TwoPhase is a digital flea marketplace that allows people to buy and sell things easily at the tip of their fingers.
About The Project
Problem
For sellers to sell goods at flea marketplaces, they are required to pay a certain amount of fee for booth rentals. It is difficult to find for any good quality goods as most of the flea marketplaces only offers junks.
Insights
Nowadays, people are more likely to shop online on different shopping platforms.
Solution
The solution is a platform where users can buy and sell goods online.
Goal
To have an online flea market platform which allows users to buy and sell goods online.
Embarking
To begin this project, I started off by defining what is a flea market through primary and secondary research. Traditional marketplaces are not commonly visited by the younger people, as flea markets in Singapore mostly have antiques, boring collectibles and junks. It may take time for an individual to find something good at a flea market.
I jotted down ideas and some important features that makes up a marketplace.
User Research
What is the goal?
The goal is to create a platform where users can buy and sell goods online, and have a filter function for simpler usability. To also attract the younger people to use this platform.
Who are the users?
Traditional flea market-goers are usually people between the ages 25 to 50 years old. But the goal is to attract the younger people as well. Not only that, flea markets usually have a lot of cheap goods. Thus, the assumed persona is a middle class (income) young adult.
What do they need?
In order to understand their needs, I did in depth user interviews with several people to help me create personas, which are visual representations of user groups. This will then help me with my project research analysis and design work.
artsy sarah, 18
sarah enjoys art and music. she loves clothes and books and aims to save the planet. she has never been to a flea market but would love to.
struggles: don’t know any flea market around Singapore
goals: to start buying secondhand goods instead of brand new from retail stores
oldie jonny, 35
jonny is a middle age individual that enjoys going to flea market. he enjoys vintage collectibles and antiques.
struggles: it is difficult to find for good quality collectibles for a good price
goals: to add more goods to his vintage collections
Exploration of Ideas & Concepts
After synthesising the user interviews and clarifying what problems to solve, I used storyboarding to place the personas in their environment. After sketching user scenarios I could identify what to focus on.
Low-Fidelity Wireframes
Based on the exploration of ideas and concepts, I began to design the onboarding process and the different features in low-fidelity.

Colour Scheme
Logo
The colour scheme is mostly influenced by retro style with a lot of primary colours.
As this is a flea market, "Two Phase" can be translated to secondhand.
